Term 2

We have loved exploring the edible gardens this term and appreciate the effore that Mr Jordan puts into it. As the Autumn leaves have been falling we have noticed its getting colder and we are missing our swimming sessions.

We have been going for walks around the school and noticed the changes over time- the students love the rustling leaves that have fallen as Autumn has taken over.

Our topic groups have each gone on a trip this term- the group doing forces of motion headed off to the Hamilton Museum where they learnt about Archimaedes. Miss Garland and the group were very impressed with the dispalys and said there was heaps to learn and some really interesting facts!

The group who studied sinking and floating went on a trip to Hamilton Gardens as this was a great opportunity to explore our community. We loved looking into the water features to see what items had fallen in and what they were doing (sinking or floating).

This term we have been lucky enough to have Mrs Manning on board. She is our music specialist thats visits once a week and provides the students with so many different skills. They love making up dance moves, listening to rythms and playing along, playing different instruments and singing at ranging pitches. They are always so excited for this.

We have been practicing our piece for the Hamilton Competitions which will be held late this term. The students are doing a great job learning the dance moves for our piece.

Term 1

This term has been a busy one at Marian. We have 3 new students from other Patricia Avenue Satelites who have joined our team and have been learning about what happens at our school and how our class operates

We have enjoyed a Solidarity Day, where Marian School and a few other Catholic Schools came together in solidarity to remember those less fortunate than ourselves. We shared some rice to think about some people in the world that have this as their staple food and may only get a small portion of this a day, depending on the availability and resources for food.

Swimming this term has been fun. We have been learning to use kicker boards, pool noodles and holding on the wall to practice our kicking and breathing techniques. We are so lucky to have a swimming pool at our school and sometime even have a lunch time swim when it is so hot!

Learning this term has been interesting and challenging and we were lucky to have Mrs Brett come and teach us art on Wednesdays. We have enjoyed taking part in the team 3 assembly’s on Fridays and were lucky enough to host one in week 7! This was so much fun and gave our students so much confidence and courage to speak in front of an audience! Thank you to Melite, Fivarikah and Harrison for being our hosts, and for Connor for being in control of the sound and music!

This year we will be doing a school performace and our classes will be performing as well as practicing for the Hamilton competitions- we have so much to look forward to!
