What Occupational Therapist do at Patricia Avenue School

We are involved in every aspect of school life from in-class learning to school trips, events and camps.

We support students to access and engage in all class activities in the best way possible.

We do this by

• Providing programmes in classrooms that support play skills and cognitive development
• Encourage activities to increase how students use their hands for activities
• Moderate and adapt health and PE
• Provide support for safety in class and in vehicles
• Adapt, support and promote the process of personal cares
• Provide equipment and advice for eating and drinking
• Provide equipment and support for student positioning
• Support to meet students’ sensory needs
